Lot's of news this time out. Two players are on the DL, Heyward and Cespedes. If these owners want to take advantage of the April Rule (you can pick a player with up to 3 more HRs or 8 more RBIs than your guy has) and amp up their squads they need to contact the League office with their choices no later than midnight on the 30th.
There are two new team names as well. Bill's guys are now known as the Wassailing Piscators (Jolly Fishermen) and the Rawhide Raconteur has decided that he's over Mike Scioscia's grind-it-out have-as-little-fun-as-possible managing style. I am going to stick with my manger's theme but just switch to Tampa's Joe Maddon (my favorite skipper). The Sciosciapaths are now the Maddoning Crowd.
1) (2) Green Sox (Vic): Braun (HR) 7; Dunn (HR) 5; Cabrera (RBI) 23 [11.5] = 23.5
Big start for the Sox. Dunn's hitting a buck thirty, though, which is a bad sign even for him. This team could have an Achilles heel ...
2/3) (7) Maddoning Crowd (Rob): Encarnacion (HR) 7; Howard (HR) 2; Encarnacion (RBI) 16 [8] = 17
Encarnacion is coming to life after very slow start. Can Howard come back strong? Will the new name put my guys over the top? The RR's squad is looking a lot better than it did a couple of weeks ago ...
2/3) (1) In-Stitches (Bonnie): Fielder (HR) 5; Davis (HR) 8; Hamilton (RBI) 8 [4] = 17
Waiting for Josh. Everything else here is looking good ...
4) (6) Sharks (Mark): Carbrera (HR) 2; Beltre (HR) 4; Braun (RBI) 21 [10.5] = 16.5
Cabrera's hitting up a storm, just with few HRs. Beltre's looking a little creaky. Braun's having his usual PEDtastic start ...
5) (3/4) Garvey's Army (Steve): Kemp (HR) 1; Hamilton (HR) 2; Fielder (RBI) 22 [11] = 14
One player does not a team make. Kemp and Hamilton's dismal starts are dragging this potentially powerful squad down ...
6) (8) Bushmill's League (Kevin): Bautista (HR) 7; Bruce (HR) 1; Kemp (RBI) 10 [5] = 13
A slow Kemp and missing Bruce are killing this squad. Is Kevin already hoping for an injury or two?
7) (3/4) Steroids Error (Eric & Laurel): Stanton (HR) 1; DL Cespedes (HR) 3; Gonzalez (RBI) 17 [8.5] = 12.5
Under performance and injury are already killing these guys. Are the Eco-Twins going to be making a move soon?
8) (5) Wassailing Piscators (Bill): Pujols (HR) 2; DL Heyward (HR) 2; Pujols (RBI) 13 [6.5] = 10.5
Pujol's heel and Heyward's now missing appendix are ruling this team. The RR predicts a personnel move here soon ...
